We are located in the center of Narvik, within walking distance to the city’s most central facilities and a short distance to both bus station (with correspondence to airport), train station, the harbor and not least the popular Narvikfjellet mountain with activities that are equally suitable for the whole family.

The building the hotel is located in was first built in 1871. A bundle maker shop and shoe store were then run on the 1st floor and a dentist on the 2nd floor, until the building burned down in June 1940 during the fighting on WW2.
The building was rebuilt in 1954 and has since been run as a hotel.
In the 60-70s it was called ”wivel hotel” with restaurant and pub, the hotel had a dance floor in the basement, restaurant in the 1st floor and bar on the 2nd floor. it was one of the city’s most popular meeting places for the city’s locals and sailors who visited Narvik.
In 2019, Narvik Hotel Wivel underwent a comprehensive renovation, where the entire hotel as well as all rooms in the 1st and 2nd floor were completely renovated. The rooms are decorated in a modern, warm and welcoming style.
We have kept the rooms in the 3rd floor as they were before and rent out those rooms as Budget rooms, so that we can have a cheaper alternative for those who want a simple and affordable room for the night.
In 2023, we underwent a modernisation process of the hotel where, among other things, the breakfast room was renewed so that we can accommodate more guests, and that you as a guest can enjoy breakfast in comfortable and inviting surroundings.

You can help yourself to coffee and tea, and there’s usually a homemade treat to enjoy with your coffee. We also sell various drinks and snacks. The lobby offers comfortable seating areas where you can retreat to enjoy some snacks or refreshments

In the hotel’s basement is the restaurant Furu gastrobub.
The menu is inspired by North and Nature, and is prepared in their own special way.
There is an ample selection of drinks from local Norwegian and foreign producers.
At Furu you can enjoy both lunch and dinner in modern surroundings. You can forget about the outside world and just relax in a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
We get a lot of good feedback for our staff, and we are very proud of that. We are all genuinely interested in offering the best service possible. We always go the extra mile if we can. For example if you have to leave us early, before breakfast, let us know we will prepare you a “breakfast-to-go”.
