We are located in the center of Narvik, within walking distance to the city’s most central facilities and a short distance to both the bus station (with correspondence to the airport), the train station, the harbor and not least the popular Narvik mountain with activities that are suitable for the whole family.
Our goal is not just for you to enjoy yourself at our hotel. We also want you to get the most out of your visit to Narvik.

The building in which the hotel is located was first built in 1871. It was then run as a furrier’s shop and shoe shop on the first floor and a dentist on the second floor, until the building burned down in June 1940 during the fighting in World War II. The building was rebuilt in 1954 and has since been run as a hotel and restaurant.
In the 60’s and 70’s it was called “Wivel hotel” with a restaurant and pub, the hotel had a dance floor in the basement, a restaurant on the first floor and a bar on the second floor. it was one of the city’s most popular meeting places for locals and sailors visiting Narvik.
In 2019, Narvik Hotel Wivel underwent an extensive renovation, where the entire hotel and all rooms on the first and second floors were completely renovated. The rooms are decorated in a modern, warm and inviting style.
We have kept the rooms on the 3rd floor as they were previously and rent out those rooms as Budget rooms, so that we can have a more affordable alternative for those who want a simple and affordable room for the night.
In 2023, we underwent a modernization process of the hotel where, among other things, the breakfast room was renewed so that we can accommodate more guests, and that you as a guest can enjoy breakfast in comfortable and inviting surroundings.

Reception
At reception, you’ll be greeted by welcoming and friendly staff.
You can help yourself to coffee and tea, and there is usually a homemade treat to enjoy with your coffee. We also sell a variety of drinks and snacks. The lobby offers comfortable seating areas where you can retreat to enjoy a snack or refreshment.
For breakfast, we offer a selection of hot dishes, such as omelettes, eggs and pancakes. This in combination with more standard options. With freshly baked bread, fresh croissants and freshly brewed coffee, our breakfast buffet gives you the perfect start to the day in delicious surroundings.
The restaurant Furu Gastropub is located on the ground floor of the hotel. The menu is inspired by Nord and Natur, and is prepared in their own special way. There is a wide selection of beverages from local Norwegian and international producers. At Furu you can enjoy both lunch and dinner in modern surroundings. You can forget about the outside world and just relax in a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
